a compelling single from the Hitsujibungaku evolves their sound past any recent works into something that makes me even more excited for future releases. “Keep Walking” sounds exactly what i expect the band to sound like, in a very good way. i’m usually timid around seeing young bands grow, as i’ve seen a great share lose themselves in redundancy or a sound that pushes too far beyond their audience’s expectation. in this single i hear a band maturing into something quite strong. it’s wonderful to see in real time.
the song’s opening this next step in sound confidently. stability is grounded well within a pounding beat and rhythmic strumming. from here the song feels it is safe to explode outward powerfully. although it goes load, it never loses its foundation. Hitsujibungaku’s vocals hold the in-between creating harmony in the composition. let the electric guitar exhaust itself, it has a rock solid beat to fall back on.
a very replay-able song. this one is sure to go far.
