Dead End - Gen Hoshino

gen hoshino isnt my all time favorite, but he so consistently releases pleasing music that i find i keep putting his work on loop without my noticing. i enjoy that his music is airy, poppy and maybe even a bit lackadaisical, giving a feeling of not having to be anywhere in particular. “Dead End” comes off as melancholic with a bit of longing while maintaining a wonderfully uplifting quality. even with the title “Dead End,” i find a spirit running through this song, one that fights back on the idea of finality. the end effect is one of quiet hope over acceptance. gen hoshino seems to hold his own little corner of the industry by being able to deliver a range of quieter and more relaxed expressions of emotion across the medium. maybe because it comes in a bit on the short side at 2:47sec, yet i somehow end up finding even this song is on a loop, without my noticing, again.
